Haute Malibu. Actor-Surfer-Cowboy-Cool Dad at Drop-Off.

unnamed-6Rodger Halston. Dad. Actor. Malibu, California. December 2014.

Fashion Notes: Rodger, Shoes: Clarks, Jeans: Levis, Flannel: Abercrombie, Vest: One Star, Sunglasses: Ray Ban. Avalon, Kicks: Converse, Jeans: Joe’s Jeans, Vest: Pop Out, Tank Top and Back Pack: Roxy

About: Rodger and family live in Malibu, where he takes advantage of the California life style.  His talents are abundant…. Actor, Musician, Singer, Surfer, Skateboarder, Cowboy, Writer, Producer, Director, Motivational Speaker and DAD.  I don’t know what it means to be a cowboy, but it sounds pretty fun.

Hair: I mean can this dad get any cooler? Rodger is a great looking dude, with major style and an awesome beard.  I have this beard style philosophy  – it can’t be neat or overly trimmed. A beard I like, is more free spirited in its presentation.  A little messy and unruly, but only slightly…Rodger has perfected my beard ideal. The long, straight hair reminds me of late 70’s folk rock hair…it just fits this dad well, and man is he lucky!

Style: I love the fitted vest with a little plaid peaking though – -and the thick wrist cuff.  A great example for men on how to wear accessories. The rolled sleeve is a great way to add some masculinity to any look – especially when its plaid.

Film: Below is a photo of Rodger from his upcoming Universal Pictures film, Scorpion King Quest for Power.  Check out this stylin’ dad in his new film coming out in January.

Surfin’ Skatin’ Stylin’ Do-Goodin’ Dad. Haute Surf Shop.

Nate. Dad. Surfer. Entrepreneur.

I met Nate at Proof Lab Surf Shop, probably one of the “raddest” (I am trying to use the West Coast lingo) places for any kid or adult. Proof Lab not only has a wide variety of California style clothing and accessories, but they create surfboards and skateboards depending on your individual needs.  Being the huge surfer I am, Nate and his crew built me a long board so I can hit those huge California waves… okay fine, I am lying, I only wish to be that cool.

But that’s the great thing about this special spot in Mill Valley, California, Nate and his partners have purposely created a shop which is so much more.. you can hang out at Proof Lab all day, especially if you have young kids who love music, surfing or skateboarding…and they are actually fine with people who don’t know when to leave a party, if you know what I mean.. hang out, no one will throw you out, I promise.

This amazing facility includes a huge half pipe with skateboards and helmets you can borrow, music lessons for all ages, music studios to record, an art studio, skateboard lessons with skate pro Matt Field, surfing and skate camps etc… Oh and you can also get a really great cup of coffee at Equator!

Fashion Notes: Nate is wearing all clothing and accessories from Proof Lab, including the surf board (in the first photo), designed by a local artist. When Nate is not busy running Proof Lab, he’s teaching his little man how to catch some waves, in only the best styling gear all sold at Proof Lab.

Haute Artist. Surfer. Dad. Weekend Soccer Drop-Off.

Ton. Artist. Residential Designer. Surfer. Dad. Fairfax, California. October 2013.

Ton, a naturally handsome dude with natural style.  Ton enjoys quality in the materials he chooses for his art and when working on designing a home, this also is apparent in the clothing he wears.  An avid surfer, Ton picks fabric warm enough to throw on after a surf session in the gorgeous, but chilly Bay Area waters.

Fashion Notes: Chocolate leather Swedish clogs by Troentorps, http://www.troentorpsclogs.com/, I worship these! Jacket: Patagonia, www.patagonia.com most of you know I don’t consider “outdoor brands” fashion, but more utilitarian.  Ton wears it well, and there is something about seeing a Patagonia jacket which brings back memories of my Boston college days and many West Coast outdoor adventures sleeping in tents on a sandy beach and hiking to the most gorgeous mountain peaks.  His Irish School Boy Cap, a great accessory to bring it all together.
