Leaving the city in style…
Leaving the city in style…
Megan. Marin County. May 2016.
Megan is a repeat Haute Drop mama. Always looking fly this one….When I run into Megan, she knows that I’m going to beg her to let me take some shots. She always looks good, without that “I tried to look good” look.
Megan knows how to wear animal print ankle boots, without looking cheesy. Not everyone has that gift – paired with solid leggings, and casual bohemian accessories – and it works so well.
The striped scarf and leather bag add dimension & cool details.
Ralph Lauren Store on 72nd. New York City. April 2015.
Calm down, I’m still into you Stylin’ Parents – I just can’t resist sharing the magic of New York City: you walk and discover so much, it’s stimulating, exciting and magical. This is the first of many other cool shots I’ll share soon. As you know, I worship people, so I’ve been photographing them more. It’s really an excuse for me to make more friends, hope you like it!
She was standing in front of the Ralph Lauren store on 72nd, looking so chic – of course I had to take a few photographs. Black and off white..those leather leggings are show stoppers..I still miss my black leather rock-n-roll Daryl K. Pants, those looked good on me :)!
An open, sexy exposed back and a smile..kind of all you need to look gorgeous.
Well Guys, I’m pretty excited because this really authentic, cool and stylish Miami mama is giving me mad props (I know people don’t say that anymore, I’m bringing it back). Annhy is like many of my “sisters” who are proud of me, and show me off – usually it involves some weird dorky dance move. But Annhy who hardly knows me, has taken how embarrassingly describe Haute Drop-Off – usually in a low voice, to not get heels hurled in my direction, and vocalized it loudly. And I love her for that. We should all, including me, stop being so afraid of exaggerating our skills….Gosh Darn it, I am the Bill Cunningham for Parent Style, and soon enough, The New York Times will add me to their fashion section and my mother will be able to properly show me off.
So Annhy started a great blog, I mostly love it because she’s so honest and funny, and she’s a looker – which always helps. So enjoy this piece about your very own Mara, and read about why I feel guilty at Guilt Free Mom Moments, http://fomib.com/2015/01/23/hooray-haute-drop-off/
Mara. Marin County. September 2014.
Fashion Notes: Denim “dress”: Zara, Gold Heels: Vintage Yves Saint Laurent. Bag: Chanel, Gold Chain with Vintage Coin: Shandi Levy Jewelry, Bracelets: purchased in markets in Turkey and Botswana. Gold Oversized Aviators: Polaroid, Nails: Gold.
It’s an exciting time for me in fashion. As you know, I am heavily influenced by urban street style. I’m an extremist in many ways, for instance, I love crazy, long nails or super short nails – but not into an in-between length. Bigger are always better when it comes to earrings, partly because I have an insane amount of hair. Small accessories are pointless, who would see them?
My friend Shandi Levy, NYC based jewelry designer, made me this special necklace with an oversized Napoleon looking man coin attached. Shandi knows if I could, I would dangle a Mercedes emblem from my ear and neck – but those are hard to find in 2014. She found this enormous coin, to satisfy my craving for the oversized and gold accessories.
Back to my point, Chanel’s latest advertisements are taken on the street, with huge pad locks attached to gold chains – think bicycle locks, only Chanel and about $2,300. Additionally, models are wearing bright, colorful sneakers..almost like those light up ones you see on toddlers.
Now wear did Chanel come up with this? On the streets of Paris, Rome, Tokyo, NYC and London – I’ve seen women wearing these sneakers paired with mini-skirts and shorts all over the place. And I keep repeating, RUN DMC style… The rap band Run DMC’s 1980’s looks are almost identical to what’s on the runway.
This is a thrilling time for me, because I love nothing more then huge gold chains, earrings and denim.. I realize this long denim jacket i’m wearing, is not really a dress..but that’s never stopped me before. I’m pulling it off….and thanking Run DMC for influencing style, even in 2014.
Eric. EMT. Dad. April 2014. San Francisco, California
Eric and his son were adorably playing catch on this gorgeous weekend at San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park. In close proximity was the usual crew jamming in the drum circle on Golden Gate’s famed “Hippie Hill”.
San Francisco is filled with stylin’ parents – it’s awesome to watch–and it makes me feel super stalkerish. I have to work on being less obvious about checking everyone out…for me, observing street style is comparable to looking at amazing art, but most art can’t shoot you a dirty look….
Have a fun Sunday guys xx
