Goodwill Score. Haute -n- Floral.

Marin County. October 2017.

I love that this dress is Zara, purchased at Goodwill

look, she’s a pretty mom with a pretty floral dress/romper… and a sweet bun. I imagine she looks great in anything. And I’m happy to appreciate her style and effort – – 🙂

Yes, this mom is thin – but remember from ME, CURVES are SLAMMIN’ & any of you Haute Moms can pull this off & look gorgeous!!!

Stacia. M.H.Bread and Butter Bakery. Marin County, California. 2015.

DSC_0029

I spotted Stacia on a weekday morning wearing high heels and tight jeans, all while balancing coffee and a kid. This is a rare sighting in the cute town of San Anselmo in Northern California.  I wasn’t surprised to learn Stacia had just moved to Marin County from San Francisco…and I was quite happy to see a mom making a solid effort, early on a weekday.

M.H. Bakery, www.mhbreadandbutter.com is my go to spot to write and eat “breakfast pastries”. I know, I probably shouldn’t be eating pastries so frequently, but I feel so Parisian, sitting in a cafe sipping coffee…how do they stay so thin again?

Fashion Notes: Tank: Halogen from Nordstrom, Sweater: H&M, Jeans: Joie, Wedges: Banana Republic, Bag: Rebecca Minkoff

A little advice – jeans should be REALLY fitted! Especially if you don’t have an ample back side.

Most recently, Stacia worked at POPSUGAR, a lifestyle, pop-culture site.  www.popsugar.com

Carla and Jon. San Anselmo, California. November 2014.

Fashion Notes: Carla: Leather Jacket: Obey, Sweater: Madewell, Tank (worn as dress): Michael Stars, Boots: Betsy Johnson. Jon: Jacket: Levi’s, Pants and Top: J.Crew, Boots: Ariat

I was minding my own business shopping at the local consignment store Sax, when this family walked by – I dropped my newly purchased ankle boots, and lunged at them.  It was a rare sighting for a Sunday in this Marin County town….. Carla is a photographer and artist. They live in Marin County with their offspring, who was on her way to ballet.

I love Carla’s bun – it’s so high and chic, but you can tell she has wavy hair – so it’s also wild and free…she happens to be beautiful and pulls it off amazingly well. What can I say, this was an exciting day for me. The combination of Jon’s red pants and black boots, all work so well.  It’s nice to see a family in “fashion partnership”.

Head Scarf at Drop-Off. Chic Baby, Chic.

Lala. San Anselmo, California. October 2014.

I realize this photo is not the best quality, but I had to capture this mom’s style. And all I had was my old iPhone. Something about a head scarf and oversized glasses brings me to a happy place – a place filled with glamorous women, part bohemian 1970’s and part Italian bomb shell.. I guess it’s the Sophia Loren factor.

I’ve used scarves for skirts, tops, bras and for my head – my mom once made me wait in the car as a teen, because my scarf as a “shirt” was inappropriate to visit my uncle in the hospital… well, now i’m an adult, so I can wear my scarf as I please. And let me start with my head….

Haute Chillin’. Dad/Daughter Drop-Off.

unnamed-1

San Anselmo, California. February 2014.

I feel like I was an outsider observing such a sweet moment with this dad and his daughter.   They were listening to a band play, while taking a break from cruising on their boards.  Safety first, they are both with helmets!!

This shot is not about the fashion..it’s capturing “a stop and smell the roses” moment on a gorgeous California day. Oh and this dad has some seriously good hair…

Haute Truck. Sunday Drop-Off.

Scout

Allison. San Anselmo, California. September 2013.

“Fashion” Truck Notes: 1976 International Harvester Scout in bright Yellow.

I spotted this truck and was picturing myself cruising around a beach town with a huge surf board in the back, all part of the “look”. And out comes Allison and her crew of little ones, who hopped in their Scout…I had to take a photo.

Allison is wearing her grandmother’s Coach bag from the 1970’s.  I’ve noticed that in this area, fashion is expressed in so many different ways – not necessarily via clothing, but in other creative ways..like amazing trucks.

Have a great Sunday..look out for stylin’ vehicles xx Mara
