Long & Lean at Drop-Off

Natalie moved from Los Angeles to a bohemian Northern California town, where she and her husband create documentaries.

Not to make this all about Mara Mara, but I must confess that I’ve been wanting to look good in a sun dress since I was a tween. Unfortunately, my curvy body (aka huge boobs) didn’t quite conform to the fabric limitations of a thin strapped, breezy dress. I know you are rolling your eyes, but living in Miami and not being able to wear a cute sun dress was painful. I’m kidding, but I still want to rock a sun dress, preferably a vintage 1990’s Betsy Johnson…man, I would scroll through the racks at Betsey Johnson looking for that perfect floral dress…usually it would end in me buying a mini skirt.

Natalie has the perfect lean dancer figure to look stunning in this empire waist practically floor length dress.  ahhh to be tall, thin and narrow  – – -what that must be like…

Michael. Marin County. 2015.

Michael is an artist and filmmaker. His work has been in numerous film festivals and museums across the Nation. Michael is working on a documentary, OCEANIA, http://www.oceaniathefilm.com.

The film looks at opposite ends of the Pacific Ocean in search of what ties us together, examining climate change, cultural history and looking above and below the sea. Kiribati, the island nation is the film’s focus, an island predicted to be uninhabitable by 2030 due to rising sea levels.

Michael shows that a dash of simplicity is sometimes is all you need. Michael was raised in Arkansas, no where near an ocean.  His Southern roots come out in his style, his shoes slightly resemble Bucks by Bass, www.ghbass.com, the official shoe of the South – and I love them!

I love hearing about the work people are doing to improve our world. Film is an incredible teaching method, and we all know climate change is real and scary. It has changed the way indigenous people live, because the resources are just not available. Modern society has moved forward so quickly, and now we are realizing the dreadful mistakes and terrible consequences of our actions.  Films like this will not only educate, but hopefully move us toward making significant shifts in how we operate as a society.

Michael and his team have been operating via grants and donations. This is a labor of love – love for the Pacific Ocean and the people who have lived by its side for generations.
